FOR SALE-ANGUS LONG

So MY MOM buys ME a cooling pad from amazon, they were on sale for $10.00.  The little brown truck brought it to MY house yesterday.  Mom puts it on the floor right where I like to lay when I get to warm, but then she got to worrying my stupid little brother Angus would chew on the corner and the blue gel would kill him.  MOM decides to put a pillow case on it, whats the worse thing he could do...drag it around the house, well NO ACTUALLY the worst thing he could do is PEE ALL OVER IT!!!!

Now MY MOM has to wash the pillow case in the washer and MY blue pad by hand.  If MOM's new wonderful camera was working you would see the FOR SALE sign I posted on my little bratty brother.  But its not.....working..........

Stella Rose

This is from Stella's Mom:
Even though we are using two different prescription med's in Stella's eyes they are getting much worse.  We always knew she couldn't see very well, but in the last few weeks she is losing her eyesight much faster. We walked around the yard last night in her usual places and she hit her head against a swing that had never been moved.  She is also much more grouchier with gussie and maggie at feeding time and even when we are all sitting around just chilling out. I have it figured out on who to feed first etc. and it works fine, but she has a harder time finding her food bowl, and that alone upsets her.  When we give her treats now, she loses them very easy and we have to find them for her even though they may only be a few inches from her nose. It makes us sad to see her struggling with this, but we will all find a way to love and support her even more, cos after all she is my stella rose.

  1. My eye specialist told me a year ago that I had a condition called PRA and I'm slowly losing my eyesight too. But I'm getting used to not seeing things right in front of my face. Mom has to hold things back a little bit so I can see them. Stella...one day at a time. With your family's love, you'll make it through this. And just maybe that eye medication will start working or the vet will find one that does work.

As for Angus.....Good Luck with That! BOL

  6. *hugs* Stella - one day at a time - no selling Gussie!

Deb - have the doc check to see if it has anything to do with the pancreatitis attack - I know it sounds weird but Wiggs lost his vision shortly after due to the meds. Its an adjustment but you guys got this! If you need ANYTHING - even to vent, I'm an email away :)

  7. Deb worry not Stella will learn to cope. Pip is hardly able to see now although we know she can see shadows. The thing that breaks our heart is if you try to stroke her she flinches as she can only see something dark coming at her. She manages fine. We have to be very careful with the stairs but we are all coping OK. Love and hugs. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
    Best wishes Molly

  10. Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about her troubles. It's hard when they have health issues, but it will make your bond with her even stronger. I'm sure there are still lots of wonderful times ahead for you and your girl so try to focus on that!

  14. Those darn little brothers. I bet Audi, our pug, feels the exact same way about his big/little brother, Beamer.

As per the eye issue, I'm sure you already know that pugs have the worst eyes in the world. Audi's eyesight is going on him, too. A black film is slowly starting to cover his eyes. We were told by his optamologist (sp?) that a certain eye ointment would slow the progression. I do believe it's called "Optimune", so maybe that's something you could look into with your vet? I hope you figure something out very soon! :)

  16. So sorry to hear that about Stella Rose. The same thing happened to my Dad's old black pug, Toby Ellis and it was a learning process for us all but Toby ended up doing quite well following our scents. Big Hugs to you Deb and Stella Rose too!
