FANKFUL THIRSDAY--Angus

This is by me, Angus Mac and I am here to tell ewes about our storms we had last night.  Well we were all watching American Pickers wif our Dad and Stellie and Momma were in the recliner a reading as usual.  It was really hot today so everyone was feeling kinda lazy.   THEN the sun sorta went away, and it started to get darker.

WELL I toles my Dad we had better head to the basement and I ran to get my super gussie cape on just in case I needed to do any rescuing of fings in the river, or the squirrels blowing out of the trees in our yard, cos our Dad luvs those squirrels, I fink as much as us....pfffst!!!

Here I comes to save the day!!!

Well the girls ran in their bedroom and were frowing their toys, and chewies, and stuffies, and favorites stuff in a big suitcase to take to the basement and Dad said NO---just get to the basement.

Well there was just one little problem wif that.....our Moms decorating skills of our house.  See our kitchen although small also has an overabundance of doors.  There is a door to the bafroom (fank goodness) and a door to the porch, and a door to the family room, and a door to the hallway and a door to the basement.  Believe it or not!!!!   And when Dad yelled get to the basement, he ran into a roadblock.

(Christmas picture but you get the idea)   Yep the cabinet was IN FRONT of the basement door, because Mom toles Dad she gets a little nervous when he works late that the zombies, and werewolves will come up out of the basement and eat us.  DAD said really bad HBO words, and I was flying around trying to find an alternate route and this was going on outside.....

The girls were a screaming and Dad was a cussing, and Mom being Mom was laughing cos that is what she does when hers gets nervous......well long boring story short, after about 30 minutes, the hail and rain stopped and the wind settled down and we did not end up in OZ.........Dad told mom she had better move that cabinet so that does not happen again, and I fink Mom just said a bad HBO word to him and went to bed.

Good fing I is the adult around here!!!

  1. What an ordeal!! I cannot believe your mom has the door to the basement blocked...though I can appreciate wanting to block any path for zombies. I am glad everything worked out...and that you were there to protect everyone, Gussie. That was a close one!

  3. the cloud ghost in the last picture looks really like that marshmallow-man in ghost busters... what a scary guy... My mom laughs too when she is under the gun and totally stressed... that often leads to misunderstandings :o( I understand that your dad was angry... but I also understand your mom... werewolves and zombies are dangerous...

  11. Yikes!! I actually agree with your dad this time. Doors to the basement should be clear! Your momma could put up a zombie alarm or something on it.

  12. Our mom is a weather geek, so she thinks your sky pictures are "awesome"!
It might be a good idea to clear the way to the basement. Just ... sayin'. Stay safe!

  14. Go Superpug! Someone has to keep everyone from panicking. Great job! We're glad that storm--though bad and scary--wasn't one of those twisters! You've got zombies in your basement? We're glad we don't have a basement.

  16. Thank you for saving the day. What a great story (HBO words and all) When Mom first moved to the Midwest from out west (where there weren't tornados) she was brand new in her little farm house and tornadoes were forecast. She was told they sounded like a train. Sure enough the tornado warning thingy came up on TV, but she wasn't sure what county she was in. Then it rained real hard and she heard the sound of the tornado and hid in the bathtub under a mattress with the dog. Boy did she feel stupid when she found out it was the train that runs behind the house and goes through every night about 10. Abby Lab

  19. Yikes!!!! That sounded scary! And not just the HBO wordies!!! BOL
Maybe your Moms could put one of those locking rollers on the bottom of the cabinet, so you could move it in case of emergencies, butts lock it in case of zombies. Win win!

I do think your Dad is right this time. You've gotta get that cupboard moved. You could get deaded in a storm like that.

  21. Yikes - those skies look mighty scary. We hope that basement door has a clear path to it now. We have storms coming in over night, but we heard that northwest Missouri had some bad ones. Hope they are not headed your way. Stay safe.

  25. We think you should just put a lock on that door so your mom can keep the zombies from getting to any of you. Glad to hear you all were safe.

  27. Lee said if she saw a sky like that why no matter how much that piece of furniture weighted it would have been moved lickity split and we would have been hunkered down holding on to whatever. We had a tornado go within miles of our house and we were in the basement holding on to each other for dear life.
    Thanks for being a friend
