RODEO

Friday night we went to watch the first rodeo of the year,  two of our grandmonsters were riding the small bulls.  Mom says even small bulls are big bulls so it is still stressful for her to watch.  It turned out to be a lot of fun, one boy stayed on for 5.5 seconds and the other boy stayed on for 4 seconds.  Marcus the younger one, got a nice hoof print bruise on his arm, and a cut on his leg, Mom says he is a tough 12 year old.  We are proud of them!!!!!   Truthfully Mom will be glad when the season is finished, hers is a worrier.

Micah is 14----------=====================Marcus is 12

One of my favorite a few years ago.

See how they have grown.

They are good boys and we are really proud of them.  We told them about the Blogville Rodeo coming up and they had all kinds of tips for us when we are riding our bulls.  We are so excited.  I am going to ask them if we can borrow their chaps!!

Update on Macey:  This week Macey had her bloodwork checked and everything came back looking good.  We were all relieved for that gift.  She has started though to realize her leg and foot are always going to be different from her other one and even though she is only 6 she is having different emotions about it.  On Saturday they were in Target buying a new outfit for her sister to wear to a camp she was going to this week.  Her sister was picking out a new pair of shoes, and Macey wanted a pair like her sister.  Of course the style of the sandal did not work for Maceys foot and Macey who is a very even tempered little girl had a major meltdown in Target.  After trying on a dozen pair they still could not find any shoe she could wear.  Everyone was upset by the time they went home.  It broke my heart to hear about it, and I have had a hard time even doing a blog this week.  I know a lot of people in blogville are hurting with things going on in their families, ........its just hard when its a little girl.
Hugs from us to you.....Stella Rose and Momma

We are so very sorry about Macey and truly understand about the shoes. Little girls love their shoes.
Per chance have you looked at Crocs online. They have darling shoes for girls. Maybe she could find some really fun Crocs and great colors too

  5. Maybe Micah and Marcus could help a rodeo-greenhorn from the other side of the big pond?
My tears rolled over my cheeks as I read about Macey and the experience at the shoe store... I'm so sad with you and Macey... that's so hard for a little girl....

  7. Bless Macey's heart it's just not fair. I bet Marcus is very proud of his "earned" hoof bruise. I hope the boys have a great and safe season. Yee-haw ride 'em cowboy, that's us cheering them on.

  8. How brave your grandsons are. And little Macey too. She has been so brave, even though it is so hard, she is probably entitled to have some meltdowns now and then. Sweet thing.

  9. Your cowboys are starting young! We'd be happy to hear their tips. It would be hard to watch Macey learn to deal with this but hopefully she will learn it does not define her, it's just a piece of her.

  10. I'm glad to hear that Macey's blood work was good. It must be hard to get used to this "new normal" for her. Sending good thoughts her way!

  11. Bull-riding is some brave business...I know I'm a bit scared of it with the Blogville Rodeo coming up! Your grandsons are so very brave!

Very glad to hear Macey's bloodwork stuff came back good...but the rest was heartbreaking to read.

  14. First of all, we read 'grandmonsters' as grandmothers....so we had a whole different bull riding image in our minds.

So sad for Macey...and so stressful to have to witness.

We understand, Macey. Our dad can't wear shorts any longer but he's a grown-up and it's a whole lot different for you. Hugs to you♥

  22. Oh My!! Poor little Macey. We had the Gradpeeps here today and our 4year old miss Izzi had about 6 meltdowns, over nothing, in just a few hours. Macey is well and truly entitled to her meltdowns. Such a lot to cope with for a 6 year old. My heart goes out to you all. Crikey my Mum would be terrified if her little boys were into rodeos. She gets stressed because they play football. She told their Mother to change them to cricket. No wonder your Mom stresses about the boys riding bulls. Thats terrifying!!

  23. Congratulations to the bull riders! The only sport I really like is rodeos. It takes great ability to perform this sport. I know it doesn't help, but God made Miss Macey unique for a purpose. I think she is a very special little girl. Much love, and tell Macey to keep trying own shoes and I know she will find just the right glass slipper for her.

  25. Wow! A rodeo sounds exciting! (and dangerous)

Tell Macey we still love her even if her feet don't match!

  26. That rodeo stuff looks scary. Our mom would be worried if they were her grand peeps too. We are so sorry to hear about Macey's troubles. It can't be easy for her. At least she should know that many of us out in Blogville are on her side and hope she learns to live with her differences. We're sure it won't be easy for her.
