STORMY NIGHT--UPDATE ON GRANDPA

Yesterday my mom went to take my grandpa to the dr.  Here is a picture of me and him out on the porch last year.  He likes me the best.

Mom told me she was a little frustrated at the Dr. but didn't say anything to grandpa cos he likes his Dr.  Mom said the first thing she noticed is the nurse talked to grandpa with her back turned to him so grandpa had a hard time hearing her, and there was music playing so that did not help.  The second thing was the dr. was on his computer looking at grandpa's information more than listening to my grandpa, Mom said she could feel herself getting a little pissy inside...(sorry for the HBO word but that is what she told me)  Finally the dr. explained that grandpa has TWO drug resistant bacteria's that contain a lot of super powers and the drug he was on to kill them, did not work, so he is sicker than he was in the beginning, which was two weeks ago!!!!  So the Dr. went back to an old standard, that hopefully will work, if not grandpa may have to go to the hospital and have IV antibiotics.....mom is worried.

Then her and grandpa did some errands for grandma and picked up his super med's and went back to their house.  On the way home Mom noticed some storm clouds coming in.  BY the time she got home, a tornado had touched down about an hour away and was making it way toward grandpa and grandma's house.  They have a earth home, so they were very safe, but mom was still worried, about them and her kids out on the road.  YOU know all the things moms worry about.

Mom drove by this building on the way home....it did not look like this at 5:00pm but at 6:30 it did.

Its an Amish Furniture Store.  Lots of wind damage in the county grandma and grandpa live in.  Our county just got rain, we were lucky.

Luckily no one was injured, just structural damages.

We are supposed to get more rain tonight.  Wowzer.

  2. It makes me nervous too when a med not works and the dr. says oh then we have to use the next... that's an uncomfy situation :o( I hope it will be just rain what comes to you tonight, I cross my paws that there is no flooding, damage or sorrows. POTP for your grampy, hope the superdrug has magic power and the bacterias run away...

  3. Mom says she understands completely about dis-interested doctors - it is hard not to get annoyed at them. We hope grandpa feels better soon and we are so happy you are all safe.

  7. Poor Grandpa - seems like a lot of the antibiotics these days don't do much good. We hope this new one will chase away all those sickies.

Scary storms for sure. We missed all of them, but we saw the stories on the news. Stay safe.

  9. Sending lots of pug prayers for Grandpa. we agree about the doctors. Mom got irritated with her doctor she wasn't sure if he was listening, or just playing on his phone. We have gotten HOT and it will get HOTTER - ugh. Stay safe in the naster weather

  10. My Dad knows exactly what it's like to not hear what's being said. He's been almost deaf for most of his life. In order for him to hear you, and read your lips, you must face him and speak clearly. Do not try to speak loudly because it distorts your voice and makes it harder for him to understand.

We hope Grandpa feels better soon! And hope no one was hurt in that storm. We've been having some turbulent weather too.

  16. We've got that 'staring-at-the-computer-screen' syndrome here. It's supposed to improve doctor service.....like (HBO word inserted here.) We hope whatever they are trying will work and a hospital visit will be avoided.

That was quite a storm. Glad it missed you, but we feel sorry for those who got it.

  20. Oh frustration with the medical community sure seems to be the standard sentiment going around these days. Thank goodness the nasty weather did not get you or your loved ones. Anymore it just seems like we cannot just have a gentle rain.
