Second, we had a visitor this weekend that we wanted to tell you about. Of course we have no pictures cos Mom had to order a new usb cable for her super duper camera, so we will have pictures shortly. Her name is Oddie and she is a little fawn pug who is 3 years old. She belonged to Jean, and Jean passed away last November and she went to live with Jean's daughter who just happens to be one of my moms great friends from elementary school. So Oddie and Deb (her name is the same as my mom's) came down to visit yesterday. OMPUG Oddie is so cute and so well-behaved that all my mom could do is shake her head in amazement and look longingly in her direction ALL DAY. First, Mom noticed that she just ran up the steps when they walked in the door, and NEVER ONE TIME even thought about running circles away from her Mom in the yard towards the terrible highway. Then when she came in the house, she never peed or pooped anywhere and she mostly ran around visiting with us, and my parents a wagging her tail all friendlylike. Deb said it was because she had always lived with an elderly person so she never had the chance to learn naughty but Mom thinks its just because she is just so great!!!!! Maggie of course showed her
Mom also started us on something new this weekend. Coconut oil for Gussie's itching. She read all about it on the internet, and from bloggy friends, and decided to go buy us some and herself. We are getting 1/4 tsp in our food to start out. She also massaged it in our fur and for the next hour or so, we followed each other around, licking it off....um um good!!!! She said later that she bet little miss OODIE, would never have bothered them, licking it off........oh sure MOm oh sure!!

Hey, we just started the coconut oil too! It is yummy. Mom thinks it is helping my face itchies, and making my fur glossy!

It sounds like you have a nice new friend! Will she be back to visit you again? :)
ReplyDeleteStella Rose that is cool you had a nice friend visiting. We bet you and Oddie had plenty to chat about. Have a marvellous Monday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Good friends and good food are life's simple pleasures.

That sounds like a great visit. Glad you had such a fun weekend and glad Gussie didn't get to far. Lee and Phod
ReplyDeleteI can't believe your momma had the nerve to call YOU a brat after you were such a good hostess!! Just because Maggie and Gus can't behave doesn't mean YOU were doing anything wrong!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun visit! The coconut oil does sound yummy. We saw it at Costco and thought about getting it. Maybe we will after all! I can only imagine a line of pugs following each other and licking each other's bodies. Cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice visitor you had! Is your mom thinking about sending everyone to school to learn lessons? Of course YOU Stella do NOT need them but the two juveniles in the house might need to learn some manners. Maybe you and your mom can do some shopping and Mags and Gussie can go to school and learn how to treat guests?

You'll have to tell us more about the coconut oil...we are curious to hear about it working or not...
ReplyDeleteI've used coconut oil. Nola gets fish oil and olive oil now.

PS: The Trifexis horror stories I've heard are mostly a breed specific thing; dachshunds are one of the most sensitives breeds, from topical to medications to vaccines. I've heard of seizures, blindness, severe stomach upset and neurological problems, to name a few. But like I said, 99% of those have been in the Doxie community.
Friends visiting and coconut oil. Oh yea! Sounds like the beginning of ta good party. hehehhe

Oh, Stella, I could read your blog all day long. And for the record, I have 2 pug brats also. The boxer mix is better behaved, but she is still young. lol
