Well ever since Mom first brought me home she has caught glimpses of Dad giving me a quick drink of HIS SWEET TEA out of the corner of her eye. She was ALMOST sure she was seeing things, cos no Parent would give their Pug a drink of tea with 87 cups of sugar in it. The first time it happened Mom dismissed it ....the second time it happened she SCREAMED at my DAD and asked him what the H-E-double L he was doing, he said "oh I just give her a little sip". Mom told him to stop! The third time she saw it she SCREAMED AGAIN at DAD and Dad told her, "oh I just give her a little sip".
Mom sat Dad down and told him all the evil things SUGAR can do to a little pugs body and even told him that is probably why I got sick that time and had to stay at the vets overnight. (Mom lied to Dad but she was desperate!) After that Dad stopped giving me sips of his sweet tea for about 87 days. Mom won...until the other night.......this is what she came home too!!!
WE COULDN'T SHOW YOU THE PICTURE BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN TO GRAPHIC
Now all of us pugs LOVE our SWEET TEA even tho Dad "only gives us a little sip." Mom threatened all kinds of cruel things if he didn't stop. Things, we can't even write about on this blog, things a pugs ears shouldn't even have to see in their lifetime.
We think Dad will just become a sneaky closet SWEET TEA DRINKER and he will hide the glass before Mom gets home. Mom is beside herself. I, Margaret and Angus McConnell are hooked on the stuff! Now she knows why we are so wild and wooly in the evenings.

There is enough sweetness in the house with those faces. No need for sweetener

We never had sweet tea before but mom drinks it all the time. She says nothing tastes better on a hot day. I will ask her for a sip and see what happens. Maybe your mom can make some sort of a deal where your dad puts up the fence and she makes him some sweet tea??
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Stella - c'mon - no more sweet tea. I'm sure the SousPug would join you in the sweet tea drinkin' closet but you had a nasty belly bug and your mom is right - that can lead to another sleepover at the vet's if you aren't careful. You have to watch your sugar intake. Your mom and I will have our UNSWEETENED tea and chill out on the porch tho :) (I'll even bring treats!)
ReplyDeleteAh-HAH! That's why you're so sweet, you're drinking lots of sweet tea. It all makes sense now.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Casey except I'm going to add one more thought...Stella Rose gets into mischief because she's so hyper from the sugar! BOL
DeleteStella does your dad have some Southern DNAs in his blood?
ReplyDeleteMOL Mostly So. like sweet tea.
but we don't give it to babes cause it makes them bounce off the walls.
Hugs madi your BFFF
My Mommy #1 is hooked on sweet tea - more specifically McD sweet tea. Even though it is $1 all sizes, that adds up. And Mommy #2 likes to avoid McD whenever she can. So Mommy #2 taught Mommy #1 how to make simple syrup, the main ingredient in McD Sweet Tea. Now she makes her own. I realize this is beside the point of your post. Mommy #2 is a lot like your mommy - no ST for PUGS! Unlike your Daddy, Mommy #1 is too afraid of Mommy#2 to give us any.

OH NO... the War of the Sweeeeeeeeeeet T. This may come to a truce when the weather breaks.... WE HOPE so.
ReplyDeleteSweet Tea ~ when I hear Lee say Sweet Tea I think she is starting to call me. Lee puts a little tea in my bowl, so we are with your Dad.
DeleteThanks for being a friend

Oh No! I'm fully with your Mom! See what the tea did to Maggie and Gussie? They're addicted.

We have never had sweet tea, in Canada we just call it Ice Tea (Lady always forgets when she is in the states that Ice Tea is not sweet . . . ), it sounds great! You are lucky your Dad is bad and gives you it! Lee and Phod
ReplyDeleteHowdy Mates, mmmm, sweet tea sounds good. OUr mum has tea without sugar, she says she is sweet enough but that is a lie. Sometimes she is sour too hehehe. Your dad sounds like a real sweety for slipping you some sweet tea! Have a great weekend mates. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteHmmmm....I never had sweet tea. Hmmmmm...I never had sweet anything! I's a very deprived little weenie dog! :(
ReplyDeleteYour dad sounds like the BEST!
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
Are my mommy and your daddy related? Mom says 88 cups of sugar in her tea or coffee is what makes it perfect. We sneak sips of her coffee in the morning and love it! A little dab will do ya ♥

OMD dad is in the dog house AGAIN. Oppsssss!!!! Have a super Saturday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Hilarious! I love the picture of you wearing the evidence of sugar on your chin! You look like a deer in a headlights if there is such a thing for pugs. I think you and your dad need to start admitting you have a problem with sweet tea and head over to your first Sweet Tea Anonymous meeting. There is hope. BOL
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thanks for pawticipating in my 800 post giveaway contest! The winner will be announced at noon today! Exciting stuff.
I have never had sweet tea, but it sounds good. I will bug Mommy and see if she will share some with me.

Sweet Tea is great on Labor Day!
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy Monday!
Hugs,
Well, Stella, Maggie & Gussie, I dont know who could resist your sweet little faces, I sure couldn't! My hubby used to tell me not to give our Angel anything, then I come to find out he had been sneaking her some of whatever he was eating!!! (which is how we found out she loved cheese!) lol!! :-)
ReplyDeleteWe've never had tea. Jan doesn't like it sweet anyway and she would NEVER let us have any if she did. She won't let us have anything with sugar in it.
ReplyDeleteHa ha! I've never had tea before. My dad drinks a lot though - he makes it himself so he can control the sugar (he's also frugal!). Although he doesn't add very much sugar. I'll have to give him a good stare next time he's drinking some so he'll give me a taste.

Sid
