UPDATE ON OUR DAD

Have you seen this guy?   Nope, well we haven't either, ..............Mom says he is right up the road and around the corner from us but we cannot find him.  She toles us over and over he is NOT at Kevin's living wif all those cats, and loving on those kittens............it is rather suspicious though that not ONE cat or kitten has come back to our house since our Dad left us.

Anyway MOM wanted to tell you that Dad has to go back up to the University tomorrow for another round of x-rays on his back.  At first they (skilled care) thought our MOM was going to take him in her teeny weeny car and Mom didn't know if she should laugh or cry or say bad words to them, instead she stayed calm and told them there was no possible way he could get in her car, if he cannot even sit up in a chair yet.  Use your head peoples............so the masterminds at the hospital decided even though mom is not a doctor she was correct so he has to go by ambulance.  Mom is hoping he will be back in the afternoon, with the doc. saying he can come home very soon.

Mom talked to PT about getting him a hospital bed, and possibly a lift chair recliner.  Oh won't we haf some fun with those fings.  So far PT has not worked wif him on climbing stairs, which he will haf to do to get in our house, they say his pain level is to high yet to try that.  We pugs faught maybe we could just have him lay on the sleeping bag and we pull hims up the steps, that is what the grandmonsters like to do????

Today is 14 days.......Dad is sick of the hospital, Mom is sick of the hospital and we are sick of Mom never being home.  WE are grumpy today.

  1. Don't be grumpy! Get ready to put on your smiley faces for when Dad does come home. {Maybees he'll bring you a new kitten} Never mind..scratch that last remark. We still have all our paws crossed for a quick recovery and a quick homecoming.

  2. imagine something would happen when you drove with your daddy in your own car... that was the worst idea that hospital-people ever had...
it's so hard when you have to deal and to fight for everything you need... I sometimes think at that front the humanity is still in neander valley. I cross my paws that you get that hospital bed and the lift chair... and I cross my paws that the x-rays show NO bad things...

  5. We hope the xrays go well for your Dad, and we hope he can come home but only if it is really the right time. Your Mom doesn't need any more stress. If you have to rent a hospital bed for him, maybe you can ask if they have a ramp you can rent so Dad could get in without having to do the stairs. Then you would also need a wheelchair. Sheesh nothing is easy. We still have all of your family in our thoughts and prayers for life to turn the corner to the much better days for everyone.

Hugs and Woos - Ciara and Lightning and Mom too

  6. Hospital people can be dumb. Last year when our Man couldn't eat or drink, they were going to send him home from the hospital because he had a virus. Lady had to point out that he would die without drinking if she took him home before they would keep him until he could at least drink. We know your dad would rather be with you then anywhere and we can see why you are grumpy. It is ok to be a little grumpy.

  7. It is A-OK to be sick of it! We are glad the hospital peoples listened to your mom and your dad is gonna get the x-rays he needs. Going up stairs would be really hard. When mom had a bad back (not even broken just soft tissue and muscle spasms) she could not even go up an inch! So we know that will be hard. You pugs are gonna have to really help out on this one. Tell your mom and dad that we are still crossing our paws and we HOPE those cats are NOT hiding your dad out!!

    Your Pals,

    Murphy & Stanley

  8. Oh, the hospital people are so silly sometimes! You have to keep them on track to make sure they do everything RIGHT. We hope that there is VERY good news from the pictures of your daddy's back and he's able to make it home soon. Maybe you could find someone big and strong who could help carry him up the stairs without needing the sleeping bag?

  9. It is a hard time for everyone - especially for your Dad - Mom remembers what is was like when she spent 6 weeks at the rehab center having to learn how to walk again - the frustration makes it seem 10 times worse. We are sending lots of potp - just breathe

YAYAYAYAYAYAY for you mom standing her ground...how totally ridiculous of them to think your Dad should ride in a car...I think they have mush for brains there at Skilled Care.

It is okay to be grumpy...you don't want things bottled up inside y'all might bust a gasket.

  19. We don't blame you for being grumpy! Sometimes those medical people don't think about what they're saying. Your dad is lucky they didn't suggest putting him on the roof!

  21. Hang in there, hopefully he will be better and home soon. Mom got her Dad one of those lift chairs when he turned 90 and it's wonderful. But no matter HOW hard you press the button it won't launch you into the air like superdog. I tried.

  26. Our ghostwriter works in a nursing home. Sometimes she sees people who are recovering from injuries. She always tell them, no matter how terrible it is now, it WILL get better, and you will walk out of here! Be patient. Healing takes time, but it happens.

  27. Don't blame all of you for being sick. It's been a long, hard two weeks on all of you! We hope the x-rays will help your dad come home. But we wouldn't advise dragging him up steps in a sleeping bag. You'd break your teeth. And your dad would probably complain all the way up.

  28. It's good that your dad has your mom to look out for him. Sometimes you have to wonder what those hospital people are thinking. We are continuing to send good thoughts your way. You guys have had more than your fair share to deal with lately!

  29. It's been a long, tough haul for all of you (especially Mom and Dad!) but every day is one day closer to the time Dad will come home and Mom won't be away so much. We'll keep praying for you all and even more that Dad's pain level comes way down really fast.

  30. I hope that the xrays show that your dad is making great progress. What a tough time all of you have had. It must be so very very hard. Hang in there, and we'll keep sending the POTP.

The vision of you all pulling your dad up the steps on a sleeping bag was funny :) Jan is right - you'd break your teeth!

Maybe you could get him a wheely cart and push him around the house. I hope you will all be together as soon as soon can be.
