I have many complaints of the man but since I am a kind and endearing pug will not even begin to go into them, well ....maybe just a few............first he is very stubborn about all his dr. rules, and mom and him have been arguments about what he can and cannot do...........I am taking notes to use as future reference if I am every to write a book about living in this family.
Mom has not won many fights which is unusual because usually she is the witty and smart one of the two but imposter dad has had much chances at resting and thinking up new strategies too cos mom even more alarm, while mom is working aways making money at the office.
A few days ago he decided he COULD drive the car down to the gas station. I faught we were going to have to call the ambulance to carry our mom away, I don't believe hers breathed until imposter dad walked back into the house, or as I am being kind, half crawled and walked back into the house. Of course the next day he was in great pain, and mom just had a malicious look in her eye. It is not hard to understand why. He promised mom he would never try that again, mom believes he is untruful.
Yesterday the hospital called to say they seen a new break from his xrays last week, so they are ordering more medicine to go along with the 125 bottles that mom has to sort for him each day. I do believe on the day he wanted to drive mom told him in very HBO words he could find some other dumbass to sort his pills for him. He did not comply.
Mom did not even get our new Halloween pictures taken this week, and barely got around to answering our friends blogs.............she is being strong, but it is hard. We three pugs are trying our best to be good and when dad sits and watches tv we usually all sit with him, which is most of the time, if he is not sleeping, then we sleep, mom is worried we also will turn into mini imposter dads which will make us mini assholes. I toles her not to worry, I am already half way there.
Well, my dearest and sweetest I must go and check around the house. Mom has left for work, and I am sure she said I was in charge today, I fink hers told our dad that I was smarter then hims. Which is true.
I hope you have a wonderful day, we are all just happy it is Friday. We have made it through one week wif the imposter dad at home.
I hope you don't care but I is sharing my letter to you on our blog today, ...............mom said I haf to.
Maggie Maes

Lady's mom is the same way and has done similar things when very ill (never with a broken back, but with some other near death kind of things). Lady knows it is super frustrating. She tells your mom to be strong and try and be patient. That is hard. Our Lady is not by nature a patient person, but she finds 5 minutes of meditation a day helps her be more so. Continuing to send you hugs.
ReplyDeleteDad's make the worst patients but that is silly for him to be risking making it worse - time to lay down the paws !
ReplyDeleteI know such men too who will not listen to that dogtors.... maybe the doctors can give them the instruction ass backwards so it will work because they always do the opposite? My dad is one of that men... he actually said he will drive home as my mom picked him up from the lousepital...he could not even find the door of the car with his swollen shiner... Hugs and POTP and secret Weim-Power to you all...
ReplyDeleteHey Maggie Mae!
ReplyDeleteWow, your BFF P.Leah is right! Treats fur sure. Lots of POTP for your Dad.
Grr and a Spooky Woof,
Sarge, Furiend
Are you sure the man is an imposter dad? He sounds like the real thing, at least from what we've heard about human males. They don't pee on furniture but they are strange in other ways. And STUBBORN! We hope your mom retains her sanity through this and none of you turn into mini ... well, you know whats.
ReplyDeleteYour mom is lucky to have you around to keep things under control while she is at work Maggie Mae. We are keeping our paws crossed for your dad to continue to heal and for your mom to have the strength she needs to care for him. We know it isn't easy.
ReplyDeleteWe've always heard that men are very bad patients. Maybe your mum should hit him with the dammit doll and use some HBO words!
ReplyDeleteOh Maggie - we hope you can put some sense into your Dad. If he doesn't follow the doctors orders, it will take longer for him to heal. Maybe strap himt to the bed! BOL!
ReplyDeletehave a safe Halloween
hugs

DEB AND PUGS...OH MY HOLY MACKERL JUMPIN' CATFISH WHAT HAVE ALIENS INVADED THE 'MANS' BRAIN. DEB BLESS YOUR HEART. NOW I MEAN THIS IN THE KINDEST WAY...THE MAN HAS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIMSELF TOO IT IS NOT ALL YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. HE HAS TO HELP HIMSELF I KNOW TALKING TO HIM IS LIKE TALKING TO A CINDERBLOCK WALL COVERED IN BRICK. BUT OH MY WORD DOES HE HAVE TO BE HIT WITH A 2X4 TO SEE THAT HE IS DOING HIMSELF HARM AND MAKING THE LIFE OF HIS CLOSET ALLY MISERABLE. GOD BLESS YOU PATIENT AND LOVING HEART.

ps I THOUGHT MY DAD WAS STUBBORN WHEN HE WAS SICK BUT I DO BELIEVE YOU MAN WINS THE PRIZE.
I THINK IT IS TIME FOR ENEMA NURSE TO COME IN
Having a man sick is such a very hard thing-yours sound exceptionally stubborn. I agree that it will take him much longer to get better if he doesn't follow orders; maybe your mom should threaten him with not getting his pain meds if he misbehaves. You keep loving on Mom-she needs it.

After my Mom's Dad had a stroke (about 8 years ago, he's' fully recovered), he was told NOT to drive. One night, she gets a frantic call from her stepmom that Dad had just up and taken the car. He came back in about 45 minutes with a bucket of KFC and a six pack. He said he wanted some chicken and NO doctor was going to tell him he couldn't. She had to hide the keys.

WE all agree with what everyone else says, and think a few HBO words in a few well put sentences speaks volumes! :-)!!
ReplyDeleteTake care, and good Halloween vibes from our house to yours!
Oh my gosh the terrible stress you must be under. We are sending your some angels in your dreams to give you all massages. We know men can be so difficult. Sometime they are just older boys. Bless your Mom and her patience. We are sending her more so she can get through the day,
ReplyDeletePraying for strength for you!
ReplyDeleteOh, we do know it is very tough right now. We hope your imposter dad will NOT try and drive the car again. For one thing, if he is taking pain meds he could hurt not just himself but someone else. And of course he could get a DUI too! Oh, we can only imagine what is happening. Our hearts go out to you and your mom and we pray this imposter will start obeying the rules!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Oh dear sweet Maggie Mae, we are so sorry that life is so tough. Our Mom can be really hard on our Dad when he doesn't do what he is supposed to do. Maybe we need to send her there to rule over your stubborn Dad while your Mom is at work. Maybe if you threaten him with that, he will shape up:)
ReplyDeleteWe are going to keep our paws crossed for you and your family for some good things to start happening.

Tell your mom to just let dad do it his way. The tell your mom to put tape over her ears when he starts complaining!
ReplyDeleteNurses should be coming everyday giving him shots until he stops being so cranky.. and enemas too,.
Thats what I read in a pug nurse magazine,, I know it must be good advise,
