HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAKENNA

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl.  This is MaKenna Ryan Dee Elam she is nine years old today.  She is my Mom's FIRST granddaughter.  First my Mom had four grandsons and then MaKenna's daddy went to Iraq and my big sister Kylei found out she was having a little girl....whoooooweeeee....my Momma and Daddy were soooooooooo happy!!!  Oh they loved all those grandsons, but a real granddaughter ...wow!!!!!

Makenna's mommy was happy cos hers had two little boys so a little girl would just make it even more special.  So while Makenna's daddy was doing his hard job for us, Makenna just waited patiently safe and sound in her momma's tummy.  She grew and she grew and she grew.

Then one day she heard her Daddy was gonna get to come home and visit everyone.  Her momma was excited, Micah and Marcus, (her brothers) were excited,  her grandma (who she already loved 100 times over) was excited, her Pappa was excited, the whole world was excited, but the person the most excited was Makenna.  So she started planning....and planning...and waiting.....

On March 30th  her Momma, her brothers and  her Grandma drove to the airport and picked up her Daddy!  Oh what a homecoming.  There were hugs and tears and more hugs.  Makenna's brothers were so excited to see their daddy!!!   Makenna knew everything was going just as she had planned.

Makenna had a special way of letting her Momma know she was all ready to meet her Daddy for the first time and finally the day had come.  Daddy and Momma went to the hospital on March 31st and on April 1st Makenna was held for the first time in her Daddy's arms.  What a special day it was for everyone!!   We know the angels danced on the day she was born. 

My momma is going to do another post later this week about what her and Makenna did over the weekend for her birthday.   Sometimes in our life though with every happy there is also a sad, because this will be Makenna's first birthday without her Grandma Terri.  I am going to tell Makenna that I want her to know that NOW Grandma Terri is right up there with those dancing angels doing her very own dance just for her MaKenna.....Happy Birthday Kenna Bear.
