THE GREAT CHILI SOUP WAR

THIS is not a picture of moms chili soup but close....so anyway mom decided yesterday since it was cold outside she would COOK chili soup for supper.  Dad says Great and so did the boy grandmonster.  Well momma slaved over the hot stove opening cans of beans, tomatoes, juice and cooking the meat...working hard.  Dad said DO NOT USE BAKED BEANS and Mom told him she didn't.  One time she made chili and used Bush's baked beans, guess Dad didn't like that.

Anyway you all know Moms cooking experience is -21 but she tries!  So supper time rolls around and naughty words start coming out of Dads mouth cos mom used pork and beans along with kidney beans in the soup.  The big argument starts and Dad refuses to eat any chili soup.  Mom doesn't like to argue in front of the monsters or us, so she just silently sends him death glares and nicely told him that she would NEVER EVER cook for him again.  Nicely.  Dad told her to stop being dramatic just don't put those kinds of beans in chili anymore...mom said they have been together for 10 years and he is just NOW telling her that...she was mentally packing his clothes and throwing them out in to the big snowstorm!  So the rest of the night she only talked to us and the grandmonster and looked at dad with homicide in her eyes.

Poor mom she tried so hard.  She sent the chili home with the grandmonster today and did give Dad a small hug just in case he died on the icy roads going to work.

  1. We would give your Mom an "A" for trying!!
HeeHee you noticed that gate around the tree huh! Mom and Dad didn't trust me to leave things alone. AND they aren't sure what to do with me on Christmas Eve when all the family comes over for a buffet feast. Bailey & Hazel usually have to wait patiently in the bedroom when the eating commences but I am NOT a very patient girl!!

    2. Mom is thinking she might let me mingle with the guests but put my collar and leash on me so she can keep me close to her. She doesn't want me diving into someones plate!!
Bailey & Hazel will be jealous, but they get to help clean up later!!

  3. My Mommy said if your Dad did not like the chili then he shoulda helped out and made something himself. My Mommy does not take kindly to criticism of her cooking.
Merry Christmas Stella. And the best to your family and new sis too.

  7. Oh my goodness! This sounds like my evening except there's no grandmonsters or husband involved! I decided to cook rice and chicken for Daisy because she refuses to eat her regular food on account of the fact that she had surgery and is feeling a bit loopy. Anyway, I smelled fire but I just thought the rice was boiling and then I found out I burned a dish rag that was sitting by the burner!
I hope your dad comes back home and decides to leave the cooking in his hands rather than your mom's! In my opinion, your dad was at fault for even thinking about asking your mom to cook! LOL

  9. It looks well nice to us. What can we say. Was dad having a Diva moment? At least it ended on a hug. Stella Rose tell mum she should have a pact with dad that he does ALL the cooking from now on. We suggest that mum from now on takes on the hard task of putting her feet up and spending more time with you Stella Rose. Sounds good to us. Have a super Saturday.
    Best wishes Molly

  16. Have to admit ... dad never makes chili with baked beans. Our mama doesn't cook, either ... she'd probably use baked beans ...

  17. Oh my gosh, we can't get enough of your Mom's death glares and cooking stories. Men say us ladies are hard to please.....YEAH RIGHT. At least she tried. Maybe she should make him some ex-lax brownies to make up for it?
